Ross E. Rudolph, a mediator and trial attorney, has agreed to participate in the Mediation Assistance Program pilot project of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. This program allows pro se litigants to have the benefit of an attorney at settlement conferences held in the federal court system. The volunteer attorney will be court appointed and will also assist in preparing for the settlement conference on behalf of the pro se litigant and the drafting of settlement agreements and motions to dismiss the litigation where appropriate.

Joseph H. Langerak has been chosen by Indiana Lawyer as an “Up and Coming Lawyer-2010”. Mr. Langerak is one of only 15 attorneys honored in the state with this award. The Up and Coming Lawyer Award recognizes lawyers who demonstrate achievement in law, involvement in the profession, and support of the community.

Ross E. Rudolph recently participated as a panelist/presenter at an Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum Master’s Series seminar on Advanced Civil Mediation held in French Lick, Indiana on November 12 and 13, 2009. Mr. Rudolph’s principle presentation was concerning the state of Pre-Suit Mediation in Indiana.
Angela L. Freel has recently ascended to the position of Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Indiana State Bar Association. As the Chair of the Young Lawyers Section, Angela will serve on the Board of Governors of the Indiana State Bar Association for 2010.
James D. Johnson has been elected to the Indiana Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was nominated in October by the National Board of Directors. Members are selected for their proficiency as attorneys, as well as their demonstration of high personal character and honorable reputation.

Angela Freel, a partner with the law firm of Rudolph, Fine, Porter & Johnson, LLP, recently ascended to the position of Chair-Elect of the Indiana State Bar Association Young Lawyer Section (YLS) after serving for a year as the YLS’s elected Secretary/Treasurer. As Chair-Elect, Ms. Freel will serve the YLS and attend the Indiana State Bar Association Board of Governors’ meetings as an observer.

Marc D. Fine, a founding partner of Rudolph, Fine, Porter & Johnson, LLP, has been appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels to fill a vacancy on the Indiana Gaming Commission. The commission regulates the state's 10 casino riverboats as well as the casino resort in French Lick, Indo., and slot machines at the state's two horse tracks. His first meeting will be November 8, 2007, and Mr. Fine's term on the Gaming Commission expires in 2010.
