EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 7:30 a.m., attorney Ross E. Rudolph will present, “Stay Out of Court! Learn How to Reduce Risk and Save Cost through Pre-Suit Mediation”. This is the third in a series of six business law seminars hosted by the law firm Rudolph, Fine, Porter & Johnson, LLP and the Southwestern Indiana Small Business Development Center. The seminar begins at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the offices of The Chamber of Commerce of Southwestern Indiana, Innovation Point, 318 Main Street, Suite 401, downtown Evansville. To register, contact SBDC Administrative Assistant/Training Coordinator Debbie Albin at 812/425-7232 or via email at dalbin@isbdc.org. There is a charge of $25 to attend the seminar.
This seminar focuses on the trend in mediation toward the use of pre-suit mediation and how Indiana has evolved from an Alternative Dispute guideline regarding pre-suit mediation to a rule. This seminar will identify what procedures apply to pre-suit mediation under Indiana law and how, in effect, many litigated matters are actually "pre-suit" compared to lawsuits from just a few years ago.
Rudolph is a registered Indiana civil mediator and partner in the litigation department at Rudolph, Fine, Porter & Johnson, LLP, where he focuses his practice in the areas of mediation and arbitration, corporate and commercial litigation, injunctions, product liability, insurance defense, and appeals.
